2015 Chevrolet Corvette adopts the 8-Speed Automatic Transmission.

Chevrolet has released some new details about the Eight-speed automatic transmission in the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

Scheduled to replace the six-speed unit, the new Eight-speed enables the Corvette to travel north to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and does the quarter-mile in 11.9 seconds; a difference of 0.1 seconds compared to the outgoing gear box.









Besides the improvements in 0-60 mph times, the Corvette is more fuel efficient as models equipped with the Eight-speed automatic transmission will carry an EPA rating of 16 mile per gallon city / 26 mile per gallon highway / 20 mile per gallon on the combined cycle ( United States).

As part of the changes, the Eight-speed transmission has a more aggressive first gear ratio which helps improve off - the - line performance, while having the "world-class shift times that rivals the best dual-clutch design"

Mercedes Benz unveils facelifted 2015 CLS Saloon and Shooting Brake.

Mercedes Benz has revealed the 2015 CLS Saloon and Shooting Break in distinct official images. The mildly reworked CLS receives few subtle mid-life changes and an extended list of options, which includes Mercedes Benz's latest Multi beam LED head lamps, AMG line plus and Night packages for further individual taste and needs. Externally, there is very little differentiate the facelifted model from the car it replaces. Styling changes include an altered front bumper with greater structure and larger air ducts, a subtly reshaped grille with a diamond pattern plastic inserts and revised headlamps that now come as standard LED operation for both the high and low beam as well as day time running lamps.This uses 24 individually controlled high-performance LEDs to build on the already brilliant Intelligent lighting system. Auto Industry forming an association to combat hackers.

Car makers are coming together to form an association to prevent hackers who might try to break into a vehicle's security system, an effort which has gotten a nod from Federal regulators in the U.S David Strickland, the former director of  NHTSA who is now a consultant for the Venable LLP said" The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers and the Association of Global Automakers are helping to coordinate the effort"  Automakers are looking forward to creating a secure firewall vehicle-to-vehicle communications and also for vehicle data links to "the cloud". The concept is for automakers to share information about attempted security breaches, so that any threat can be quickly neutralized. According to Strickland, "the goal is make it very, very hard " for hackers to breach a vehicles security system.
